Hi,

is XP your guest or host system?

The easiest way to establish internet connection inside your guest is to choose NAT as network adapter mode. Your VM will get a private IP address via DHCP and will use your host system as the gateway to access the outside network.

my host system is windows7 and guest system is windows XP...

i also used the NAT as a network but could resolve that issue..i read an article fro VMware website and i followed the procedure

now a new problem occurs. The following method i did for resolving

  1. On Windows host machines, reinstall the VMware Bridge Protocol:
    1. In Windows XP Click Start > Settings > Network and Dial-up Connections.
In Windows Vista/7 Click Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > View Network status and tasks > Change adapter settings.
    2. Right-click any network adapter icon and click Properties.
    3. Select VMware Bridge Protocol and click Uninstall.
    4. Click Install.
    5. Select Service and click Add.
    6. Select VMware Bridge Protocol and click OK.

But when i uninstall VMware Bridge protocol and now when i installing it again as mentioned above..the following error displays

Okay, you went in deep Smiley Wink

You should restart your host. So it can remove the service that has been marked for deletion.

After that try to add the protocol again.

If all else fails you might want to consider to completely uninstall VMware Player and install it again, as I don't know how many changes you did to the VMnet adapters until now.

What's the network configuration for the VM right now? NAT/Bridged?

Post screenshots of the IP configuration of the host and the guest please.

I meant the view when you click the "Details.." button on your screenshots so we can see what IPs are configured.
