Hi all,
on Windows 7 Pro, VMware Player 5.02
I have all files of a virtual machine :
OPTIM-VM.vmdk
OPTIM-VM.vmsd
OPTIM-VM.vmxf
OPTIM.nvram
OPTIM65_DD2.vmdk
vmware-0.log
vmware-1.log
vmware-2.log
but not OPTIM-VM.vmx.
Is there any way to reconstruct it ?
Thanks.
All 3 .log files are the same, either corrupted containing only garbage or are encrypted and cannot be used as is to generate a .vmx configuration file from. If the VM was not encrypted you can alway just create a new VM adding the existing virtual hard disk(s) to it!
Yes - attach one of the log files here, and someone can run it through a utility to regen the vmx file.
Use the "Use advanced editor" link in the upper right corner of the normal reply window to bring up the Advanced Editor where you'll be able to attach the vmware*.log file as a file, not copy and paste, via the Choose File button or Browse button (depending on the Browser) above the Post Message button!
The .log file is either corrupted, containing only garbage, or it's encrypted although in either case cannot create a new .vmx configuration file from it.

Thank you.
