    Localization on a Vapp?

    Desrtrider Novice

Has anyone done a Vapp with localization for several languages?

I can't seem to find any documentation on how to do this. I am basically curious about the VAMI interface.

      thanks!

          Hi,

I believe you are correct regarding the documentation.

The front-end UI is based on GWT which provides support for i18n. However, there is a good chance that any somewhat recent documentation will not be applicable to the current version used within Studio as it is based off of a fairly dated 1.5.3.

Any messages propagated from the back-end can be internationalized using gettext. There are several .po files you can find under the /opt/vmware directory for example.

Ah yes, so there is also an internal mechanism leveraging property files.

If you specify a language file based on this convention "vamilocale_" + localeName + ".properties". You will override the default.

You can see the default in /opt/vmware/share/htdocs/locale
