Dear experts,
is there a simple way to tell Workstation 9.0.2 to disconnect a USB device from the guest while the device is physically detached?
Suppose I've connected a device, like a flash drive, to a VM. It worked.
Then I've safely removed it from the guest and pulled it out. But Workstation still remembers that it was attached.
Next time, I want to connect this drive to the host only.
When I plug it in, Workstation displays couple of popup warnings that the device will be disconnected from host.
I cancel these popups, and the device remains visible to the host. Great.
But the problem is, that this device now disappears from the Removable Devices menu of the VM, so I cannot uncheck it.
Of course, while the device is not connected to the host, it is not visible in the VM menu too.
Has been addressed in the beta (May 2013) by chance?
