SSO upgrade question

We have two sites running 5.0 that I need to upgrade to 5.1.

After reviewing the upgrade documentation I have a question.

We are not currently using Vcenter linked mode but I want to deploy it.

Based on this scenario it looks like I will install SSO in both sites  in Multisite mode.

Should I convert to Vcenter Linked Mode before upgrading Vcenter or perform the 5.1 upgrade first?

Upgrade first, link afterwards.

Installation order is crucial!

• Install SSO on vCenter A, upgrade Inventory Service A, upgrade vCenter Server A.
• Export SSO configuration.
• Install SSO on vCenter B, import SSO configuration from vCenter A, upgrade Inventory Service B, upgrade vCenter Server B.
• Export SSO configuration from vCenter B
• Import this in the SSO of vCenter A
• Link both vCenter Servers
