Environment consists of vCenter 5.1 Update 1a, ESXi 5.1 Update 1, there seperate are 2-sites in linked mode. I was cloning a powered off VM for testing and received the attached error just after selecting a location prior to the storage selection screen. The full error message from the attched image is"Call "PropertyCollector.RetrieveContents" for object "propertyCollector" on vCenter Server "vCenter Server.Com" failed."
- This only happens when I attempt to clone a VM on the opposite datacenter I am logged into (i.e. When logged into DC-A vCenter, I get the error when trying to clone a VM from a DC-B Host and vice versa).
- When cloning a DC-A VM while logged into DC-A vCenter I receive no error. I have removed the VM from inventory and tried a few other potential remedies but this continuees to be the case.
Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions as to root cause?
