Hi,
I am trying to install my customized fedora iso as VM using Vmware player. But I am getting the below error messages
Booting command-list
root(hd0,0)
Filesystem type is ext2fs partition type 0x83
Kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.18.custom_1.3 ro root=/dev/sda2
[Linux-bzImage, setup=0x1e000 size=ox18b702)
Initrd /Initrd-2.6.18.custom_1.3.img
Error 15: FIle not found
Press any key to continue...
I entered grub mode and looking for the file "Initrd-2.6.18.custom_1.3.img", it does not exists.
Why Initrd file is missing even though installation is success.?
Moreover grub.conf generated by Vmware player is wrong.
Why vmware player is not properly copying initrd image and also grub.conf?
Its working fine with normal distro ISO, but there is a problem for my customized ISO. My customized ISO is working fine in Host PC.
Please share your views on this.
When creating the Virtual Machine for the customized ISO Image as you walked through the New Virtual Machine Wizard did you select "Installed disc image file (iso):" or "I will install the operating system later."? If the former try the latter, especially if when using the former it recognized the Distro and performed an Easy Install.
I tried later option like "I will install the operating system later" But I m getting the below error
why ""Installed disc image file (iso):" option is not working?
The ISO installation became success in normal Host PC.
Please help me if any of you guys have faced the above mentioned issue!
Since your dealing with a customized ISO image that your either created or modified then I really do not see this as a VMware issue. Having built customized Live OS ISO Images for Windows and customized install scripts for Linux ISO Images in the past I know from first hand experience it's real easy to make mistakes. So you need to review what you've done and fix it.
