Setting up environment for Replication

Hello,

I need to propose a replication solution to a customer with low budget. I'll use the vmware replication appliance, but I have a dubt if my solution is working.

See attached picture:

in a vsphere cluster have Standard licenses with vcenter

in a standalone server have Essentials kit license, enough storage for the replicated VMs and the replication appliance.

Can I replicate virtual machines running into cluster to a standalone server, or I need to have all under the same cluster and the same vcenter ?
