Is it possible to create a persistent disk for a manual dedicated pool? Without the use of View composer?

Your questions have been moved from VMware ESXi 5 to VMware® Horizon™ View.
A View Composer persistent disk is only available when using View composer but couldn't you accoplish the same thing by just adding a secondary disk to your VM?
