Set the help.url property in /opt/vmware/var/lib/build/services/core/<version>/view/view.xml and /opt/vmware/share/htdocs/service/core/view.xml, you may need to clear your browser cache afterwards to see the updated value.
Hi, samdoyle. Thank you very much for your answer.
Thanks to your answer I've managed to find something else I was looking for, but I'm afraid this does not help me to solve my problem.
You see, what I want to do is create a linux-based appliance with vmware studio, and change the help.url property before the appliance is deployed.
Do you know where I have to go to change that parameter?
I also had a look on my vmware studio and my appliance and did not find the file "/opt/vmware/var/lib/build/services/core/<version>/view/view.xml".
none of them have a "core" folder.
I've just found your other suggestions on another post. I'm checking it out now. Let's see if it works
I responded to another post with the similar problem
I'm not sure if there is any licensing terms specific to changing the content on the core services; I don't think there is any.
Introducing a help.url in the /opt/vmware/etc/customize/Generators/service/core_view_deploy.xslt should work.
e.g.<xsl:element name="property"><xsl:attribute name="name">help.url</xsl:attribute><xsl:attribute name="value">http://my.helpurl</xsl:attribute></xsl:element>----This doesn't do it at deployment time and will actually impact all builds. You can look at the service.gen file for how it is done.
