Hi there,
Is Worksation 7.1.5 build 491717 compatible with Microsoft Windows 8?
Best regards
eAs I read the host compatiblity guide the answer is no - it is not suplported. However the guild only goes upl to WS 7.14 - missinig WS 7.15. for some reason I may be reading this wrong - somebody who uses the compoatiblity guide as the last word would know better. Or ther emay be a another answer.workaround on the web - use Google Mainly I would just try to install it myself - backupl your system first as always.
Then post file /vra/log/vmware-installer please try to comporess it with zip or tar if you can.
Good luck
Hi Martin,
Thanks for the response. I tried to install Windows 8 on VM 7.1.5. Just for your information it did install but at the end of installation an error message pupped off saying installation failed.
When Vmware moved the workstation from ver. 7.xx to ver 8.xx I made a discussion asking for the feature of the CPU and the PC. The fact that going to the Best Buy and telling the clreck I want a PC with this Spec, he or she would not understad. I want you to tell me what CPU of Intell (i3, I5, i7) or AMD support the Spec for vewest version of
workstation which I assume is 9.xx. Your help is greatly appreciated
Best regards.
System requirements for new Vmware Workstation versions is accessible in the user manuals. You can access those below:
Workstation 8: Introduction and System Requirements chapter: https://www.vmware.com/pdf/ws80-getting-started.pdf
Workstation 9: http://pubs.vmware.com/workstation-9/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.vmware.ws.get_started.doc%2FGUID-C665A78...
After reveiwing the requirements, you can refer to the product specification of the CPU, which you plan to use, and verify if the features required by Workstaiton is available on the CPU.
