Hi,
What is the server guest operating system???. If it is win 2008 OS power of the VM and increase the size of partition. Then power on the VM and under guest OS increase the C: partition size by disk management.
Regards,

What Operating system are we talking about? Windows or Linux, what version of Operating system are we talking about?
Increasing a partition requires adjacent free disk space. In order to increase the size of the first partition on the disk you first need to move the second partition to free up disk space adjacent to the C: partition. Your options are to either use a disk partitioning tool (for a list of tools see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1004071, personally I mostly use gparted) or to use VMware Converter and do a volume based conversion. If you are going to use VMware Converter, you may consider to create two separate virtual disks to avoid situations like this in the future.

If you are using windows then use diskpart. but if you want to increage C: drive You have to use Converter (P2V or V2V).

Hi,
you can use Gparted live.I have used it on multiple occasions and always had positive results. I recommend it.
I hope you find it helpful.
As already stated you need to have adjacent free space to expand the C drive so you need to remove the D drive either by manually copying the files to a newly added 2nd HDD or by using VMconverter to split the drives into two seperate VMDK's while doing so you can also resize the drives.
If it's a windows server 2008 OS then you can extend the C drive from the disk manager tool once you have free space otherwise you need to use disk part after a reboot to adjust the system volume.
Does your D drive has free space? If so, you can use some thrid party software to move free space from your D drive to your C drive.

If there is no free space on the disk. you can add a new virtua disk or expand the virtual disk. For detailed information and operating steps, you can refer to this article:http://www.extend-partition.com/resource/vmware-expand-disk.html
Hi
I am excited about sharing this information with you to help you prepare to take and pass the VCP5 test. You can log on to my blog http://www.vmwaretrainings.com and get quality training and practices guidelines.
I will suggest to have a LAB ready on VMware workstation 9 or one system for vCenter and couple of for ESXi hosts.

Naga05 From What i have understood you can do the below steps to achieve it:
If you have a virtual machine which contains two partitions on one single vDisk, you can use VMware vCenter Converter to split these two partitions into individual VMDKs:
• open VMware vCenter Converter
• select „convert machine“
• go through the wizzard until „Options“
• select the option „Data to copy“ and click „Edit“:
Now change the data copy type to „Select volumes to copy“ and click „Advanced…“.
With „Add disk“ you can create a new virtual disk. Then mark a partition and say „Move down“ to change the destination layout as you want it.
In this wizzard you can change some other settings, too if necessary:
– change the size of the partitiion
– change the destination datastore
