In HA after Host failure virtual machine grayed out.

Hi,

Iam doing Evaluation on HA.

I have created two ESXI host inside the cluster both HA and DRS are enabled on the cluster.i have put DRS on fully automated mode.once an ESXI host failed virtual machine get powered off and getting powered on.

But the issue is this virtual machine is grayed out and i cant do any thng on that virtual machine which is under the failed ESXI host.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Since the failed host is failed then you can't perform any actions on it until it comes up again.

The greyed out VM:s is just a snapshot of how it looked last time that vCenter talked to it.

How do you think it should work?

Thanx for you reply..

But as i have enabled HA and DRS my failed virtual Machine must get powered on in other esxi host.but my issue is its powered on but it got greyed out...

Did the VM get failed over to your working host?

when my esxi host failed it is getting powered off and get powered on.when i go to summary tab of virtual machine it shows powered on and also written VM protected but the vm and its all console tab got greyed out i cant do any oprn..

Could you post a screen capture?
