Hello All,
Below are few details before I post my question,
Storage Vendor: 3PAR
Storage Box: F400
Storage Firmware: 3.1.1
ESX connected: vSphere 5.1
Recently the Storage firmware was upgraded to 3.1.1 and after that Storage is showing the CRC errors for few ESX hosts. There are lot of systems connected to 3PAR storage but only few ESX are showing CRC error.
From ESX side, the HBA driver upgrade and BIOS upgrade was done. But it did not solve the issue.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Nick,
Hi virtvirtualdive
did you perform the array upgrade or a partner engineer etc. ?
i would do the following
1. Upload any logs etc from your array to 3PAR for further analysis
2. I'm assuming you have some FIber switches in your environment log into these and check for any errors
3. Are all our paths showing a healthy status under storage adapters under virtual center
David
Hello David,
thanks for the reply.
1. did you perform the array upgrade or a partner engineer etc. ?
No only the Storage F400 firmware was upgraded from 2.3 to 3.1. Nothing else was done.
2. Upload any logs etc from your array to 3PAR for further analysis?
We have already done that and they are saying there is no error from the Storage side because on the Storage switch there are alot of systems connected but only few ESX servers are showing the CRC error.
3. I'm assuming you have some FIber switches in your environment log into these and check for any errors?
Did that but no error is logged in there.
4. Are all our paths showing a healthy status under storage adapters under virtual center?
Yes all the paths are healthy and visible in the vCenter.
Other than all above, we have replaced the cable connecting to the Switch.
thanks
