vmware tools under osx 10.8 keeps crashing on esxi 5.1

hello,

i have installed esxi 5.1 on a macpro (finally supported) and it works like a charm. installed an osx mountain lion virtual machine.

but when installing the vmware tools, it shows the virtual machine as other (32bit) in the summary screen in vsphere client.

but that is just cosmetic. the real problem is that vmware tools crashes after several hours and that is annoying.

even tried to use the vmware tools supplied with vmware fusion 5.01 but it has the same behaviour.

We have the same issue. After some troubleshooting, we found out that it occurs when you log in to the OSX VM and log out. So if you just reboot the vm and leave it on the logon screen, VMWare tools should still work. But when you log in and log out, the processes are gone.

Did you ever figure out a solution?

Are there any relevant crash reports in /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports after VMware Tools has crashed?  If so, could someone post them?
