Virtualization Newbie

Hello Everyone,

I cannot really say I am new to virtualization as I have used VSphere in an enterprise where I was as it is a large enterprise. Now I have a small enterprise that will be requiring like 3 Servers and instead of buying seperate hardware devices, I intend using a VMware product so I can run the virtual servers on it also using VLANs if possible.

For a very small business of such requiring maximum of 20 staffs and 3 servers for a start and also looking into replication of the servers across WAN in the nearest future as a backup, what product do you think it is best with respect to performance and cost.

All answers will be highly appreciated.

Thank you.

When you say 3 servers... do you mean 3 virtual machines, or 3 physical hosts?

If you provide additional details about what you are considering, you are likely to get more useful answers.

I mean three virtual machines on a single "proposed VMware" physical host.

Thanks

I suggest looking at Veeam Backup & Replication. This product can do backups and replication and will probably have everything you need.

Try to use VCBmounter it can backup VMs and it comes with VMware.

VMware KB: Using vcbMounter from the command line
