Upgrading 4.1 to 5.1 vSphere using Oracle DB

Hello All,

Is it just me or is it VMware and Orcale don't play along well with each other?  I've been trying to upgrade vCenter for the past week and a half and getting no where.  I looked for an Oracle "Opatch.bat" I've downloaded the 64-bit Oracle client.  I've searched for everything that will explain how to upgrade using Oracle, but nooo.... nothing helps.  Even on Oracles site they don't explain how to upgrade using Oracle.

Has anyone found the location of the Opatch.bat?

Here are the specs:

vCenter 4.1

Oracle 11g

Windows Server 2008 R2

64-bit Oracle Client

I've been able to get to the end of the install and I get an error saying "Error occurred while retrieving database version."

Please help.  I can't be the only one to have seen this.

Have you seen this KB 2032277?

Thanks for the reply.  Yes I have seen that KB.  After opening a call with VMware they sent me the .sql file to replace in the install.  Still not getting anywhare.  I've found docs saying that the vCenter server has to be put in "Safe Mode" in order to apply the Opatch.  Nothing says where to get the Opatch.
