Hi all,
I have a test lab in my laptop to Practice vmware, i try to install vma in my vcenter with in vmware workstation, but it asks for sarting vma in 32 bit or 6 bit. When i give 64 bit it shows an error the host does not support 64 bit. How do i know wheather the host is insalled in 64 bit or 32 bit.
Regards,
Karthick.
ESXi 5 is only 64bit
Hi,
Thanks for your reply....
if we install esxi in workstation without enabling virtualization in bios it will install 32 bit.
but i enable the virtualization in bios but when i starting vma it asks weather i want to start 32 bit or 64 bit.
if i give 32 bit it shows error in console "Kernal incompatablity ". If i try 64 bit it shows host is not support for this os.
Regards,
Karthick.
Thread moved to Nested Virtualization forum.

try other linux 64bit for the vm os type if you havent already.
its also possible your physical cpu isnt compatable.

sorry i mis-read your post, I thought you were having trouble with ESXi nested.
This artical desribes the same issue your having, sounds like it wont work without VT exposes to the guest.

Are you running VMA nested under ESXi under Workstation, or are you running VMA under Workstation?
