Auto Naming Full Clones with Sysprep?

Hello All,  We are having fits trying to generate some sort of naming convention for our Win 7 x64 pools using View 4.6.1 and Sysprep.

We do not seem to be able to use a customization specification  file to generate a naming convention for our pool.

The closest we come is the ramdom name generation Sysprep uses. We are supplying FQDN for domains.  We're getting a domain join but we need a way to supply names of our choosing for a variety of pools we will creat.

Auto Naming full clones is a must have for us.

Can you not somehow utilize the "user virtual machine name option" to accomplish what your looking for?

We have many different desktop pools with names that be building.  We use two things to make this work for us using mini prep.

First, in under Provisioning us the Naming Pattern which can be uniqe by pool. An example is "DEWC{n:fixed=2}"

Second, in Guest Customization just point to the AD Containor (down to any level in the OU) where you want these desktop to be joined.

By using these options you don't need to do any customization spec and just let View do the joining directly.
