Hi there,

I've met some problem when running the vCloud director 1.5. When I was trying to visit the https://10.4.55.223, and then the vmware-vcd-cell was dead, but pidfile exsits.

Here I found the log in cell.log. Please anyone gives me some help. Thanks.

I am seing the same issue as well.  This is the second time this has happend in my lab and it really has me thinking twice about moving to 1.5.  The worst part is that litterally NOTHING changed, it just stopped working.  Any help wold be appreciated.  Getting errors like this in the cell.log file:

Application startup begins: 8/3/12 3:33 PM
Error starting application (com.vmware.vcloud.common.main.NetworkPortAvailabilityVerifier@5a7b5cb8😞 Could not bind network port: 80 on host address: 10.0.0.21
Application shutdown event: Beginning

Ok, I have found out what the issues was (for me anyway).  It was that the certificate used on the vcd server somehow became corrupt, thus disallowing the connection to the database.  You can also see this same behavior in other scenarios, for example, if the listener on the database server is not up.  The concern for me here is that the log files really don't do a good job at all pointing you to the issue.  Something this obvious should have a very straight forward error like:  "Error connecting to database vcloud on server oracleDB01.company.com: Invalid Certificate"

But instead the vmware-vcd service starts just fine and then dies 5 minutes later, then restarts again... -1 for unhelpful error trap code

Make sure you have you vCD proxy nic connected and communication. If not vCD service will keep dying.
