vIN constantly using a lot of disk I/O

Hi. We have vIN installed in our lab/education environment (around 30 running VMs, and during courses around 40-80 more running).

The issue is that the vIN appliance is always the biggest square in vC Ops disk I/O heat maps, even when there are very few VMs running. It's constantly using between 6000-7000 KBps and 650-750 IOPS (see attached screenshot).

Is this really normal, and in that case, what is it reading/writing to disk? It's not like it has a super complex rapidly changing database (correct me if I'm wrong).

I tried rebooting the appliance, but a couple of minutes after the restart, it went back up in I/O again.

      Any ideas?
