The backup has user exists such as the pre-freeze and post-thaw where the application can do something (like quiece) the disk writes.
but how about during the restore? Is there an exit at the end?
for example, suppose instead of quiecing the disk, we export a copy of the data. Then during the restore, we could drop the database, recreate it and import the data.
Is this at all possible or am I just going in the wrong direction? We are on both Linux and Windows and have databases that never stop.
