We have 11 ESXi-hosts and whant to install Oracle R2 on the VirtualCenter 5.0 server.
VirtialCenter 5.0 and Oracle is going to bee installed on a virtual machine.
The virtual machine will have 4 vCPU´s 2GHz each, and 8 GB RAM.
So my question is:
Is this senario ok, or do I HAVE to install Oracle on a seperate server?
Hi
You can use Oracle as the database for vCenter Server 5.0 and thus will be able to manage all your ESXi hosts - all 11 of them. This means you will need to install Oracle on your VM where you plan to install vCenter Server 5.0 and when it asks for the database select Oracle database. Refer to the vCenter Server 5.0 installation guide.
