Mutliple ESXi PCNS on one vMA?

We have three ESXi 4.1 servers. On one of them I have vMA 4.1 and PCNS 3.01 to shut down that server.

Must I install vMA and PCNS on each of the remaining ESXi servers or can I control each of the ESXi servers thru the one vMA nd PCNS?  If so how would I do that?

One VMA should be enough. May I suggest you 2 links:

Page 52 of this is also helpful. http://emea-en.apc.com/ci/fattach/get/913200/

But does this apply if the ESXi servers are attached to different UPS devices? If so how do I configure it?

Hello, I have 2 host esxi in cluster and 2 UPS APC, 1 UPS with management card Power Shute. Each Host is connected to different UPS.
The UPS A with the Power Shute management card sends the shut down to all ESXi wich are listed on VMA. You have to add all host on VMA to shut down.

Regards.

Is there an order the servers must be on the list?

Hellos pmslic.

The UPS sends the shut down to esxi directly, to all server listed on VMA. The configuration of Power Shute in the VMA apply to all server.

The vms shut down you have to control from the configuration of ESXi virtual machine startup / shutdown.

I'm not sure if this takes an order, I think not.

In my test environment worked correctly.

Regards.
