esxi 5 support for t8300 processor

Hi guys,

I have searched the internet to see if esxi 5 supports the t8300 intel mobile processor.  I would like to use the laptop that has this chip for testing.  If anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

...Right, but I can not run a nested 64 bit machine with the virtualized esx

sure you can...http://communities.vmware.com/docs/DOC-8970

When it install's will it let me know if the hardware incompatiable?

if there are incompatibility issues, you will know during the install.  The install will fail with some sort of error message.

you may have other non-compatible issues then simply running ESXi5 on t8300 chip.  My suggestion would be to install VMware Workstation, then run ESXi as a VM.

With that said, you may look for some whitebox setups below

What kind of compatability issues are you thinking?

NIC would come to mind.  Virtualizing ESXi, if running on a whitebox setup, in my opinon, is the way to go.  This way you take out all potential hardware related issues.  You can run VMware Worksation in evaluation mode for 60 days.
