VMs only partially copied to new store and now cannot start up!

Hi - my team had set up a VShere 4.1 ESXi host with the VM files held locally on the hosts disks.

A NAS was set up and a storage area made accessible to the Host.

One of the team started moving VMs from the Hosts local disk to the NAS storage area but the process bombed out and the VMs are trying to start using files onthe NAS even though the files are still on the local storage (unfortunately this also included the VCentre server).

Can anyone advise of a way to fix this!

Thanks

Chris

Hi
that would be expected behaviour if any of the vmdks use absolute paths in the vmdk description.

you can easiy check it: login via winscp and download the vmdks with flat.vmdk or delta.vmdk extension.
Then open them in a texteditor and search for absolute path entries

Thanks for the prompt reply (and apologies for the extremely long time it has taken me to say so - too many distractions).
