Using Clones to Backup vCenter & Database?

The title kind of says it all.  I'm interested in creating a resilent and easy to recover vCenter installation.  Full Clones seem to be a good options to accomplish this.  Has any one done this (I'm sure someones tried it) and second if there any things to look out for if creating a full clone of the vCenter Server and Database?

Thanks,

Steven

I typically don't clone a DB. Usually easier to do log shipping or mirroring. vCenter is safe enough to clone from my experience. If you update vCenter or add any plugins / modifications, do another clone.

If it's mission critical, vCenter Heartbeat is also an option.

All you need in vCenter is the database..

Insted of doing a cloning to backup vCenter, I would suggest to create a backup of your DB and store at a remote location.
