    Updates?

    Champion

I just began to rebuild my much neglected Dev Environment and low and behold there hiding in the middle were 2 Dell 2650s fat and happy running along 1 up for 550 days and the other up for 620 days.

We should probably be embarrassed, but what a testimonial for stability.  Kind of reminds me of the old NetWare 3.11 Days.

Kind of seems like a shame to bring them down to update them.

Anyone got me beat on uptime?

Wow... now thats some uptime.  My current is 189 days, but it had to reboot when I moved   Other then that they are all new servers, lots of patch 3 & 4.

The last time we did some re-arranging of racks, we moved servers while they were hot and running, gotta luv it when you have the dual power supplies with 2 power cords.

I can't beat that! The last time I saw something over 90 days was back with Novel 3.12, and it was an old network server in a company we "acquired", it had been up for 400 or so days, about the time the last support guy left.... coincidence...?

Brian, It's going to be awfully hard to beat 500+ days.  Your triumph is bitter sweet however since you achieved this uptime through neglect  I'm calling your boss

For all the troubles I had with that particular OS, I would have to rate the one I admined years ago as the most stable production box I have ever worked on. When I last looked at it, it had an uptime of nearly a year, and the only reason we rebooted it was to see if the box would come back up again when we relocated (and it did, btw).

We have a capacity planner named Tom - I think Jas thinks he like builds servers or something like that.

How should I say this nicely "NOT"

Besides you told me you don't answer to Tom.
