VM's unreachable after failed pNic.

Hi All,

When one pNic failed from a vSwitch with multiple pNics assigned the vm's should failover to the other nics without impact on the vm's.

And it works, we have tested it on other hosts in the cluster.

However we have one host (ESX 4.0)where the vm's do not failover!!

So a number of vm's get disconnected (the ones using that nic) other vm's remain connected.

The only way to reconnect the affected vm's is to change vswitch settings and when we change the vm back to the original vswitch is does get connected to another nic on the vswitch.

Any ideas what is happening.

Thanks in advance

Check the vSwitch team policy. It is port-ID based?

And no special settings on that VM portgroup? Like active - standby - unused VMNICs?
