Error on Snapshot (Unspecified Datastore)

Hi,

I have a VM there are two partition one is 250GB and another one is 256GB.

I tried to make clone but it gives error operation failed also I tried to take sanpshot then it gives below error.

"File <unspecifi-ed filename> is larger than the maximum size supported by datastore '<unspecifi-ed datastore>"

After the shutdown I tried to reduce size of second hard disk as 250GB  but when I switched on VM it still showing 256GB and unable to take snapshot with same error.

The second drive is D drive there is nothing but I am worry to delete this that might be effect on the operating system or application as this is Exchange Server.

Kindly guide me what I have to do safely.

NOTE: There is no any Raw Disk attched.

Regards,

Badr.

Check the block size of your VMFS datastore. A 1MB block limits you to files of 256GB or smaller.

Here are some KBs for further detail.
