vShield App traffic flow and debugs

I've been looking into and testing vShield App, both versions 1 and 5. A usefull feature ive found in vShield Edge is the abilty to debug traffic through the vShield Edge VM using the command line.

As far as I can tell you can do this on vShield App 1, I assume the all traffic is redirected "slow path" through the vShielod App VM.

In version 5 I've read there are performance improvements in vShield App 5 so is the traffic flow now "fast path" i.e. all traffic inspected by vmkernel module on ESXi or maybne just initial packet of flow slow pathed via the vShield App VM.

Does anyone have any info on the packet flow on vShield App for both version 1 and 5.

Any info appreciated.
