I just update a host to ESX 4.1 Update 2 with Update Manager. I missed that it was part of the patch bundles.
My Vcenter server is 4.1 update 1. Am I risking anything by not upgrading the Vcenter server immediately?
According to http://partnerweb.vmware.com/comp_guide2/sim/interop_matrix.php you can manage ESXi 4.1 Update 2 hosts with any vCenter Server 4.1 (or 5.0) version.

in fact is kinda common "practice" admins update their EyoSX/ESXis enviroments but forget to update their VC the infraestructure works OK
