Windows Computer account not present in AD

System logs - Error event

Source: NETLOGON

Event ID: 5721

description:

The session setup to the Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller \\DomainControllerName for the domain DomainName failed because the Domain Controller did not have an account ComputerName$ needed to set up the session by this computer ComputerName

Issue: computer account ComputerName not present in Active Directory Users and Computers, reboot, dijoint/rejoint, delete AD computer account not resolve

When you have this issue (indipendently on OS version), don't spend your time for searching a solution in your operating system or in query ldap to AD ... problem is outside operating system and is collocated on virtual machine "SNAPSHOT", this issue happens when you create a snapshot and then change something on domain machine account (es:like putting computer in workgroup from domain).

Resolution: delete all snapshot (virtual machine without snapshot is a good situation ... ) then disjoint and rejoint computer to domain, after reboot, computer account is correctly created and present on domain computers OU.

This problem can occours when computer account has been modified and computer wasn't rebooted before snapshot creation, then others computer account changes are made. It creates a mismatch problem on machine account in AD ....
