Hello,
I'm deploying a little environment test using ESXi5 and Virtual Center Appliance.
I already deployed 2 ESXi 5 and the Virtual Center Appliance, I performed a update of my ESXi without problem. Can I update my Virtual Center Appliance using Update Manager too? If yes, how I perform that.
Thanks
VUM 5 doesn't support patching any guest OS. However, you should be able to log into the Web UI and use the Update Link.
Hello Troy but I found in VMWare documentation this:
Update Manager 5.0 supports remediation of virtual appliances and vApps created with VMware Studio 2.0 and later.
The appliance has automatic updates as well, although the upgrade process that I've seen right now is manual. I have seen some references to the appliance and Update Manager, but I can't find the link at the moment.

The appliance has it's own update, but that is broken. I have seen several posts about it, and we all have the same problem. There is a valid link, but the link doesn't work. Maybe becuase there are no updates ATM, however it SHOULD simply say no updates found rather than error connecting to server..

I think you are reading way too much into this.. besides which it clearly states: created with VMware Studio 2.0 and later.
That MAY not be the case with the VSA. The vCenter Appliance is new, so maybe it will work, but since there is a built in update feature, I am going to say these updates will not apply.
wonder why you are getting that error.. If I manually "check update" I get No update available
Weird why does yours work.. click on settings, do a screen shot of your url..maybe it's different. Your build is different than mine, how did that happen??!?!?
I have build 5.0.0.3282 Build 456004
If you go to the download site, it even shows the LATEST build is 456005, so how did your build go beyond what is generally available..
here you go....

Different link as well..
different build, different link where did you get the VSA?
I got it from the vCenter5 download link. Maybe a month or two ago.

So if I use your url, and set it as repository, I get available updates.. interesting, which PROVES your appliance is later than mine.
you're slipping.. How come you aren't running the latest and greatest?
Thanks for all.
