VMware Tools MSI

Anyone know if there is a VMware Tools64.MSI in v5? I can't find it anywhere on the tools ISO.

I cant find it either, its supposed to be on the windows.iso according tp previous versions, but its not there in v5. Someone please help as this is needed to silent install on deployment tasks.

Any updates here?  I'm trying to get group policy installation working again but I can't do it without an MSI.

Solution:

Click Inventory, Virtual Machine, Guest, Install VMware tools

Select Interactive Upgrade.

Goto CDROM and run command setup.exe /a  or setup64.exe /a

The VMware Tools64.msi or VMware Tools.exe will be extracted !

Thanks Jan. That created the MSI for me which is great but when I run it it says it can't find comreg.exe in \Program Files\VMware\VMware Tools.

Hi Andy,

I noticed that this MSI is not working properly.

There are some file missing during installation.

When you do a setup.exe /passive  then it is working. ( launching under RESSoftware Automation Manager 2012 )

I think this is a support issue for VMware.

I will ask my friends for a solution.

cheers,

Jan
