CDS internal client error

About 9 out 10 times when I try to use the 'Check for Updates...' menu item in Fusion 4 I get a pop-up telling me "VMware Fusion was unable to check for updates. CDS internal client error (3015). Contact VMware Support or your system administrator". I've searched and found a few matches for CDS and 3015, but nothing really related to updates. Anyone knows if this is something that might be easy to fix myself or should I purchase VMware support?
