TrainSignal vSphere 5 Training Video?

I heard the TrainSignal vSphere 5 training video was a big seller at VMworld this year.  Did anyone here purcahse it?  I'd be interested in finding out how good a video it is and how well it prepares you for the VCP-510 exam before I shell out $400.00.

Thanks,

Jason

Jason,

I purchased the item at VMWorld 2011 Vegas I have to say the product is worth every dime / pound I paid for it. Give you all the new features and some to vSphere 5.

Regards

Paul

I have the version 4 videos and they are great. CBT Nuggets makes good videos too but I dont know if they are planning on doing a version 5 series or not.

I purchased the TrainSignal vSphere 5 videos at VMworld.  I'm about a third of the way through, and so far its been pretty much the obvious stuff.  Hasn't been heavy hitting yet.  Hoping that is going to change in the next few videos.  It seems to start assuming you know nothing, so it will be a significant amount of retread for those who are experienced.

Why is it that everything related to VMware (training videos/books) always assumes that the readers know nothing?  I'm reading a book now listed as "serious skills" and the author just finished explaining what an .iso is and how to make one.  :smileyangry:  In my opinion, if you don't know what an .iso is, you have no business touching an enterprise system like VMware vSphere.

For once I'd like to see someone release an advanced book on VMware or even better, VMware themselves release an advanced training course.

The vSphere 4.1 HA and DRS Technical Deepdive and vSphere 5 Clustering Technical Deepdive by Euncan Epping and Frank  Denneman is pretty good.

Scott Lowe has a few good books also.

Yeah, I agree with you it will be nice if VMware will publish a few book also.

There are few books coming up from VMWARE PRESS...

1. Administering VMware Site Recovery Manager 5.0 (VMware Press Technology) by Mike Laverick (Jan 1, 2012)
2. Storage Design and Implementation in vSphere 5.0 (VMware Press) by Mostafa Khalil (Feb 19, 2012)
3 .Automating vSphere: With VMware vCenter Orchestrator (VMware Press) by Cody Bunch (Feb 6, 2012)

Thanks

The only thing I don't like about TrainSignal videos is that they do not qualify you for certification.  I think it's time for VMware to relax this restriction.
