Managing User Data Disks

Suppose I have a linked clone pool of 20 VMs. Each of these VMs has a user data disk. If I detach the user data disk from one of the VMs in the pool what is the expected behavior for that VM and the rest of the pool? Does this affect my other VMs in the pool?

If I'm not mistaken that VM will be deleted and you can archive the disk.   At that point you add it to another VM as a secondary disk or you can recreate the first VM at which point the disk would be reattached.    Should not have any affects on any of the other VMs or pool.
