Hi All,
Only to do double check:
- Cluster Microsoft with RDM on vsphere 4.0 - I can do vmotion ?
- First disk can be created in storage ?
I read vsp_40_mscs.pdf but this is a double check. (in this guide is listed how limitation vmotion)
Thanks all

First disk of virtual machine with Guest OS installed. In old versions first disk needed be allocated in local disk.
from the MSCS documentation:
You can put the boot disk of a virtual machine on a SAN-based VMFS volume.
Can i do vmotion with this scenario ?
No, you cannot vMotion MSCS nodes with shared disks.

KB article http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1037959 shows the available options for MSCS
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "First disk can be created in storage ?". If the question is about the non-shared OS disk, this can be created on a VMFS datatstore.

Hi a.p,

My scenario:
two virtual machines with cluster mscs.
first disk (guest os installed) - in storage shared (vmdk).
second disk (data) - Raw Device - *shared
Can i do vmotion with this scenario ?
Thanks again a.p

Não tem de quê!
Does that applies to thick VMDK or Physical RDM shared disk ?
