Windows 2008 - cannot ping guest from host

Hi

I cannot ping my VM image from the host or any other server on the domain. The VM image can ping them and I was able to get the VM onto the domain of the host. The host and VM are both windows 2008. I am using Bridging network connectivity.

Previously, I had disabled the virtual network drivers as I encountered a problem where they caused RDP to stop working for the host.

If I recall correctly, The Windows 2008 firewall is configured to block incoming pings by default.  Could that explain the behavior that you see?  Try turning off the Windows Firewall from the Control Panel (don't just try to stop the firewall service as that will break network connectivity).
