For those of you who would like to play with the new REST plug-in and see how it is simple and powerful I have put together a tutorial to send Twitter updates.
I think this is a good base to get started. Once I did this one I was able to make one to post on Socialcast in only a few minutes (Socialcast support simple authentication: This removes all the Application registration steps).
