Hi,
I've installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on a quite old server but with 1 Tb of storage. I've activated iSCSI software on it. It's working nice.
I've added the new storage in my ESXi servers
when I try to migrate a VM to this datastore it works but....
when I try to migrate another one during the same time, it fails.
I think I need to enable multiple acces on the iSCSI target but I've find where to change the config nor if it possible under ubuntu.
Thx in advance for your comments.
Cyril
I'd suggest not using linux and moving to openfiler or some other open source NFS based solution as you will get better management ability.
I second the suggestion that you use openfiler. Openfiler is easy to setup and maintain. I have been using it in my lab for a while and am happy with it. It runs on almost anything so your old hardware should not be a problem. For more information about openfiler check out the following links:

This should be enough to get started. I use iSCSI with openfiler but you may also use NFS if that is to your liking. Hope this helps.
If you want to use a Linux distro, I suggest to use NFS (with XFS as a local filesystem) instead of a iSCSI target.

I’ve follows tacticsbaby<http://communities.vmware.com/people/tacticsbaby> solution. OpenFiler is perfect for what I need to do.
Thx.
