Is it safe to delete VMNAME-rdmp.vmdk ?

Hi All,

When I perform manual scan from the PowerGUI to cleanup my hard drive from orphaned VMDK, I noticed that I found some VM files with "VMNAME-rdmp.vmdk" ?

is it safe to delete that or better left there as it sounds like it is RDM files ?

Thanks

Hello Albert,

If you are presenting RDM LUNs to this specific VM, so of course it's not save to remove the XXXX-rdmp.vmdk file because this is the pointer to the RDM LUN, if removed, you'll loose access to the RDM LUN till you recover it or re-assign the RDM LUN to the VM.

If you used to have an RDM LUN and it's not used anymore by this VM, so it's safe to delete it.
