MAC OS X and ESX4

IS it possible to install MAX OS X on to ESX4 as a VM?  I have found some notes, but no real concrete steps on how to do it.

What I am looking for is when creating a new VM, what option do you select: Custom, Other Linux 64, or other 64 bit, SCSI or IDE controller, etc.

I have an employee who recently upgraded to OS Snow leapord and a particular app keeps crashing.  If I can virtualize his older OS it would save a ton of money from having to upgrade his software.

Hi Jllaclair

Welcome to the forums.

Apple does not allow installing its OS to a non Apple physical platform. That's why you can install a MAC OS X on Fusion, so on a MAC hardware, but it is not supported on ESX.

Sorry.

As mentioned above, Apple's EULA, you cant unless you are doing it on an Apple hardware. vSphere 5 seems to promise MAC OSX with relaxed req though.

Thank you. I was trying somehow to run both MAC OS versions. It’s doesn’t help to shut one system down to run the other. ☹

Hopefully I can get him to like windows to run his one app ☺
