How Copy/Replicate Backup image from one DataCentre to Other

Hi all,

We have two Data Cenres, linked via 100 MB connection.

Currenlty we are using third pary backup software, PHD Virtual 5.1, to backup VMs. We have two Data Centers. Backup image is going to Local Storage.

We need to Copy/Replicate the Backup Image created by this third prty Backup software from one Data Center to other. We do not want to Backup VMs from one Data Store to other.

We need this automatically on daily basis.

Please advise how we can do that?

Do I do this through Schedule a Task in ESX server via Crontab?

Or there is any other solutions?

Please see the attached Data Center Layout.

I will be thankful for any assistance or clue.

Thanks,

Ali

The capability to replicate is not yet part of PHD Virtual 5.1. I would check with PHD (eXpress perhaps??).  There is no automated process within vCenter to replicate other than clone a VM. Unless you have a very small image to replicate 100Mb may not be adequate.

You can try something similar:

Doing this daily with a VM over that type of network is not going to be feasible in my opinion.

Just too much data, too often, over a slow connection.
