how assign ip address to second network card

hi i have esxi 3.5 with two network card.

First network card which has ip address of 192.168.0.1/24

How do i configure ip address of 192.168.1.1/16 to second network card.

For the first network card i did it from the esxi console.

You don't assign IP addresses to NICs. IP addresses are assigned to VMkernel ports and virtual machines.

There are a lot of documentation. One that you may want to read is http://www.vmware.com/files/pdf/virtual_networking_concepts.pdf

Basically  the physical NICs are only uplinks from the ESXi host to the physical switch. And like in a physical environment, you wouldn't assign any IP addresses to a switch port!
