backup persistent disks

Hi,

I have implemented vmview and I'm using link clone pools. I was thinking about a backup stratergy but not sure what my options are. I'm using Backup Exec R2 as my backup solution for my virtual servers.

I was thinking that maybe I only need to backup the base image from each link clone group. I also have given each user a P Drive (persistend disk) and ideally would like to backup this up.

Any ideas on what folk are doing for the VDI backup solution?

There was a post on this not to long ago that you can find here, http://communities.vmware.com/thread/286099?tstart=30.    I think the answer is that you will have to do it via an agent or store your persistent disk on a separate datastore and use SAN technology to back them up.
