Hello team,
I am looking for a solution with VDR in order to use two vcenter servers, one in the site A and the other in the site B, every site with their own vcenter with VDR.
The idea, is place the VM in a NFS in the Site B, and see this catalog with the both VDR (between a L2lL at 100 mbps.
Question.
Can i see the same vm backup in both VDR? i think no. but...
Thanks for the help.
Diego
i don`t know if i really got the point, but one VDR can only access one VC, and a VM can only be in one VC at a time - so no, a VM cannot appear in two VDR catalogs at the same time
What about something like Platespin Migrate. http://www.novell.com/products/migrate/features/ Just use it to replicate the vDR appliance site to site. Licensed per workload.
I have to agree with Devzero but what is you are trying to achive? Are you trying to create a DR option for VM's so that you can just restore them at Site B in the case of DR at site B a form of poor mans SRM? If this is the case then just replicate the vmwaredatarecovery folder to site be and in the event of DR create a new VDR and mount this location. This is assuming that the repository is not corrupt so might be wise creating a script to shut down the VDR server to get a clean replication of the store?
