All Citrix PS4.5 slows down for 15 mins

All my Win 2003 Citrix PS 4.5 VM's slows down for 15 mins say around 9AM PST everyday and resumes normal operation thereafter. No Scheduled jobs, backup, AV running at those times. No related events in Windows event viewer. Monitored guest performance for a week CPU, Memory and Disk I/O are normal, hence suspecting issue at VMware level.

All Citrix VM's are in a SAN datastore.

ESXi4

No ESX performance issues (Below 60% usage of Memory and CPU)

these Citirx VM's are P2V conversion from Dell 2950 Servers.

Any pointers/suggestions/solutions with this issue is highly appreciated.

Thanks,

KrisK

Sorry for the delay in responding,  I notice that you are using Hardware 7 for your P2Vd machines,  try a P2V but set the hardware level at Version 4.  I have seen some issues with HW7 Citrix guests

My first question is have these guests been upgraded from a 3.5 ESX server and my second is what VM hardware level are they runing at?

Kind Regards

i would advise you looking into the performance metric like the storage and the network. in vpshere 4.1 you could see the storage IO. if not you could look into ESXtop.

ESX hosts are upgraded from 3.5 then Citrix servers are P2V conversion running on Dell 2950.

All Citrix guests have virtual hardware as 7.
