Unable to deploy virtual machine from template with customize guest option

Hi

I tried to deploy virtual machine from template selecting "customize using the customization wizard".

The cloning template process starts and gives out an error at 93% saying "COULD NOT COMPLETE NETWORK COPY FOR FILE C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\imcF566.tmp" .

Deploying virtual machine from template by selecting "Do not customize " in Guest Customization wizard works fine.

I have checked other link and it says "Template and Virtual machine should be on the same datastore". and I have them on same datastore.

Could you please provide me inputs on this error

Apprecitate your help

Thanks

Chetana

Hello.

What version of vCenter are you using, and have you copied all of the sysprep files to your vCenter server?

Good Luck!

Hi Brain

The Vcenter server version I am using is 4.1.0.

I did not add sysprep files because I am trying to clone windows 7 operating system (which has inbuilt sysprep tools)

Appreciate your help

Thanks

Perhaps convert it to a VM.  Boot it up and clean the temp files. Convert it back to a template and try again.

Hi

I have converted it to VM. Booted up and cleaned the temp file from %temp% folder. Converted the VM back to template. Tried to create VM again from template by configuring GUEST CUSTOMIZATION wizard selecting "Customize  using customization wizard " but facing the same issue again-  "Could not complete network copy for file C:\windows\temp\imcF556.tmp"

Appreciate your help

Thanks
